Last summer I had the opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka with the Griffin Girls Rugby team for about a month.  While there, I was invited to host three rugby clinics for the local children as we travelled the country.  The coach that arranged the trip told me to plan for about 50 children.  To my surprise, and the surprise of everyone else there, over 300 children showed up for a day of rugby with players from the U.S.  Out of the 300, I would say that less than 30 had cleats.  But, they did NOT slow them down one bit.  When I think about what children in this country complain about, I reflect on the enthusiasm, love, and respect ALL the Sri Lanka children had, it gives me…..HOPE!
